Curling? Go on – chance your arm!

The Edinburgh Access Panel is delighted to give a wee plug to the recently-formed Lothian Wheelchair Curling Club – or “LWCC” for short.

LWCC aims to provide anyone of limited mobility or a wheelchair user the opportunity to participate in this very rewarding sport.  In the words of Malcolm Winning, who is one of the club’s organisers, “Curling is an excellent sport and allows wheelchair users to compete on a level playing field with able bodied curlers. Age is not relevant, nor is gender. We not only want to be able to compete within our own club, we also want to expand and start competing with other wheelchair clubs. In fact we are about to become formally affiliated to the Royal Caledonian Curling Club, which is the sport’s official governing body.”

The club meets at Murrayfield  Curling Rink on Wednesday afternoons. New curlers will be made very welcome and each new member will get his or her initial curling session free of charge.

If you would like to take part in the club, whether you’re a rookie or an experienced curler, please get in touch with Malcolm at  the club by emailing .
