We’ll be using this page to provide information about access to public buildings and transport in Edinburgh and other accessibility issues within the City. This will include information about any special access arrangements, e.g. where there is separate disabled access to public buildings.
Mobility scooters on Edinburgh Trams
Last year’s trial allowing mobility scooters onto Edinburgh’s trams was a big success and certain types of scooters are now officially allowed on the trams.
Edinburgh Trams have now made it easier for customers to obtain a permit for their scooters:
· You can now apply via email
· You can now apply over the telephone
· You can now apply in person at 8 new locations – all Transport for Edinburgh Travelshops, Park & Ride kiosk at the Edinburgh Trams Information Lounge at the Edinburgh Airport tram stop.
In addition, if you haven’t planned your trip in advance, you can now receive a temporary permit by applying in person at one of the nine sites.
